Uterine Fibroids - Help!
Uterine Fibroids
The bane of many women. I have been wrestling with mine for 15 years, looking for a non-surgical solution. I thought I'd share this to spare you years of discomfort or agony. Here's what I've found.
Uterine fibroids are usually thought to be non-cancerous tumours growing in the wall of the uterus. Usually not discovered unless you go for a pelvic ultrasound or the growth has grown fairly large that an experienced doctor can detect them through an abdominal examination. Or you are having an unusually heavy period or other manifestations that are not normal to you like bloatedness, constipation, abdominal cramps or pain, water retention, headaches etc.
A good doctor will not ask you to do a hysterectomy first off as a solution but instead will try to surgically remove the firboids to save your uterus. However, surgical removal of the fibroids is not a solution as fibroids are notoriously known to recur. Hence the recommendation of hysterectomy, to remove the place where fibroids grow and proliferate.
The important fact usually not mentioned is that uterine fibroid is not a problem but a symptom of a problem. A lack of this vital information took me on an unnecessary long journey to find a solution because I was asking the wrong questions.
If uterine fibroid is a symptom of a problem, then what is the problem?
The human body sends chemical signals via hormones of which there are slews of them. The level of these hormones in the body when in harmony keeps the body in good working condition. However when the hormone orchestra is out of tune eg estrogen - the female hormone, becomes imbalance in its ratio to the rest of the other hormones in the whole hormone orchestra, a condtion called estrogen dominance occurs. One of the organs that it influences is the uterus. In many women the outcome is abnormal growth in the uterine wall - fibroids. It is believed that hormonal imbalance can be due to environmental factors-pollutants, genetics and food we eat.
When I realised the problem for my uterine fibroid growths was hormonal imbalance I immediately went on a hunt to find the magic bullet to get it balanced. I tried progesterone cream with minimal effect. A combination of vitamins C, E and indole-3-carbinole was effective but short-lived. The result was as inconsistent as there are hormonal influences in the body! Trying to orchestrate the level of hormones on my own was an impossible task as the level of one hormone will influence the swinging up and down of other hormones. This hair pulling experience left me dejected.
Finding Maca was a gift from heaven!
My magic bullet. A South American plant grown in the Peruvian Andes. It has been eaten for centuries by the people of this land like we eat salad. Maca strengthens the pituitary gland which is also known as the master gland, found in the brain area. It is the conductor for the hormone orchestra! Strengthening the pituitary gland is the first step to a harmonious homone orchestra. What else can be more effective than the body's own master hormone regulator to monitor the level of hormones in the body and get it back in tune?
For some people, this is all you need to tweak your ensemble but for others a few needful steps should be implemented.
I avoid soy products (aggravates estrogen dominant condition as it has plant estrogen),exercise and minimise exposure to xenoestrogen. In 4 months, my extended abdomen shrank by 60% after eating maca. A good friend of mine with uterine wall diagnosed as abnormally thick (4 times the normal width), reported a return to normal in 6 weeks of eating maca! Another had her hyperthyroidism condition reverted to normal in 6 weeks too! I am very happy for them.
Lately I have realised that there is a heaviness in my home. Inspite of my attempts to live a healthy life, I feel fatigue and tired when I am home. The heaviness lifts when I am outside. Many factors are pointing to a possibility of inundation with emf-smog. I turn on my ipad and see multiple wifi switched on 24/7. Will look for a solution for this and report back.
Found a solution. Check this website out if you are interested.
Suggestions:
I would suggest that you change your toiletries to organic ones.Detox your body first with vital earth micronutrient blend mix with a 4 organic fruits(noni, goji, acai and mangosteen) juice. I drink this first thing when I wake up every morning. It tastes great. Half an hour later I will drink my Amazing grass green superfood blend. I take my superfood blend for my breakfast. By taking this particular superfood blend mix with water and pomegranate extract or any juice you prefer, it gives my body a chance to repair itself by providing it with nutrients that may be missing from my diet.
I hope you have a positive experience as well.
Here's to a fibroid-free life. May your hormone orchestra play harmoniously. Cheers!
Update:
Another girlfriend had a very positive response with maca. Her neck swelled up to the size of a small grapefruit even after she had her thyroid gland removed more than 25 years ago. After multiple medication from her doctor without success, I suggested she try maca. In less than 3 weeks the growth had reduced by more than half and now is the second month and her neck appears normal. Wow!
Do leave a comment. It would be good to know if the article is of help to you or if I could improve it. Thank you.
